‘Rehabilitation and Training’ is run by Steve Hutley who is a retired Police Dog Handler. Steve spent 30 years with Essex Police and 19 of those years on the Police Dog Unit where he passed his Police Dog General Purpose Licensing with the NPCC (National Police Chiefs Council) with all of his four German Shepherd Dogs. During his career with the dog unit , Steve won various trophies with his Police dog ‘Gus’ in the prestigious Essex Police Dog Trials, and finally in 2013 he won the overall competition with his German Shepherd ‘Rapha’, who at the time was the youngest Police Dog is Essex to achieve the overall trophy.
Following his retirement from the Police in 2015, Steve successfully completed a Dog Behaviour Practitioner Diploma with the British College of Canine Studies where he achieved a pass with merit.
Steve now runs his successful business ‘Rehabilitation and Training’ where he travels throughout the UK training and rehabilitating dogs and owners!
He has appeared on a number of TV shows, as well as speaking on podcasts and lecturing about dog behaviour at the Mid Kent College in Gillingham. He writes a dog behaviour article in the bi-monthly dog magazine ‘Dog Friendly’ and is the recommended Dog Behaviourist at his local ‘Vets for Pets’ in both Colchester and Braintree in Essex.
Steve is also a member of the ‘Magnificent Seven’, who are a body of the UK’s leading dog businesses.
